Central Heating Installation in Meath

New heating systems, radiator upgrades, power flushing, and magnetic filter fitting across Meath. RGI registered. Quotes from €195.

A central heating system that was installed 15 or 20 years ago is worth reviewing. Better radiator valves, a modern programmer, and a power flush to clear sludge can cut fuel bills significantly without the cost of a full replacement.

Murphy's Plumbing installs new central heating systems in extensions and new builds, replaces individual radiators, carries out power flushes on sludge-blocked systems, and fits magnetic filters to protect modern condensing boilers.

Conor is RGI registered for gas connections. All new central heating work in Meath is completed to current Part L building regulations.

How it works

  1. 1

    Assessment and design

Conor assesses the property, calculates the heat load, and designs a system to match. Quotes are itemised so you can see exactly what is being replaced and why.

  2. 2

    Installation

Pipe runs, radiator positions, and controls are installed to plan. New builds and extensions are usually done before plastering; retrofit work minimises disruption where possible.

  3. 3

    Commissioning and balancing

The system is filled, bled, and balanced for even heat across all radiators. Flow rates and boiler settings are adjusted. You receive a full handover and instructions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my radiators need a power flush?
Cold spots at the bottom of radiators, brown water when you bleed them, or rooms that take a long time to heat up are the main signs. A power flush circulates high-pressure water and cleaning chemicals through the system to remove sludge.
How much does a power flush cost in Meath?
A typical 8 to 10 radiator system costs €350 to €550 for a power flush. Larger systems cost more. A chemical inhibitor and magnetic filter are recommended after flushing to prevent sludge rebuilding.
Do I need planning permission for a new central heating system?
No. Installing a new central heating system in a domestic property does not require planning permission. Work must comply with Building Regulations Part L (conservation of fuel and energy), which Murphy's Plumbing ensures as standard.
Can you extend an existing heating system to a new room?
Yes. Adding a radiator or underfloor heating circuit to an extension or converted room is a straightforward job. Conor will assess whether your existing boiler has the capacity to heat the additional area.
What is a magnetic filter and do I need one?
A magnetic filter captures iron oxide particles (sludge) before they can damage the boiler heat exchanger. Most boiler manufacturers now require one to maintain the warranty. If you do not have one, Conor will recommend fitting one during any central heating call.
